Her Space Holiday came out with an album about 6 months ago, that was brilliant! if you like the postal service, you might like them. the use lots of electronic sounds and they are really vocally driven, the lyrics tend to strike an emotional chord in some people i ahve talked to about it. so They are my recommendation for the day. Have any of you been to Amoeba Music? The largest music store i have ever seen, i went in there and all i could hear was the sounds of people shuffling through cd's. there is a long line to buy stuff. But every once in awhile there are free shows put on in the store, its crazy! Don't forget to check out my favorite chatting website http://ichatnaked.com.

so now for the rock section of my blog. as you know i am still getting everyone up to date on indie music, so i have been talking about bands, who have had albums released that arent exactly new. But they might be new to you. I just want to open peoples eyes to the array of music there is out there. #2 album of the year acording to CMJ (college music journal). THE POSTAL SERVICE! ok ok i know you know about them and you allready bought their album, but i just ahd to mention them. As you also might know Ben Gibbard the lead singer and guitarist from Death Cab for Cutie is also the lead singer in The Postal Service. His voice is perfectly blended with the trancey-ish beat. you gotta love it. BLOG.

So the weekend was good, i got a pair of paul frank sunglasses and they rock, i swear to god. So di you listen to Cat Power? I bet you liked it! admit it. anyway now that your taste in music is getting better. go to ichatnaked.com www.ichatnaked.com, and start checking out this site, its fun and you get to see some prety cool people naked. yea! if your into that sort of thing. or you can just meet cool people. As far as indie rock goes, check out The Mountaineers. Hands down my favorite band of all time, they are from UK and finding their music on a p2p might be tough, go to their website and get the free downloads there. #1 album of the year called "messy century". GOing to the beach today, but i just want to leave you with some news, Lollapalooza was cancelled, if you havent allready heard. But i did hear they are continuing with the so cal leg of the tour, but i dont know for sure, i heard that from an unreliable source. Until we know for sure go check out the band Elbow, they are supposed to be playing at lollapalooza. The album "cast of thousands" got really good reviews when it was released, i perswonally recommend it too. have a nice weekend. BLOG

Some call indie rock, college rock, because the music is targeted towards college kids. I work at a college radio station and get paid $100 a month, but i would do it for free in a heartbeat. I get all the new releases before they are released, free t-shirts, posters, and all the stickers could ever ask for. Not to mention i get to hear music before anyone else! sorry for bragging there but, i am just trying to encourage you to get involved with your school's radio station, the benefits are great.
So anyway lets talk about music. Have you heard the band Hockey Night? if not you need to step into the real world and put down your incubus record for just a second, and discover what real music is all about. click this http://hockeynightmusic.com and see what im talking about, download the free mp3's and you will wonder why you have been wasting your time worshiping benji from good charlotte, pop punk is so dead and all the teenie boppers need to realize this. Also go to this site http://insound.com and find some good underground music on your own. you will be suprised how much good stuff is out there, and how a band you have never heard of can actually be good, even is MTV dosent recognize it. be yourself, listen to your own mind, and fuck the hype! THIS JUST IN...
Cat Power voted #6 album of the year by CMJ. Ok, it was for 2003 but im just trying to catch up and get everyone up to speed. The album was called "You Are Free" and this album freed my mind! http://catpowermusic.com/ when you hear this album you will wonder why the hell did they get the #6 ranking. I thought so too but after listening a few times i dont know why it wasnt #1. Go listen to this album, and if you are a pirate, ARRR, just download the song, "Free".

well speaking of indie rock, you will be interested to know one of the best albums of this year SO FAR is "desperate youth, blood thirsty babes" from the band Tv on the Radio www.tvontheradio.com. really really good band, they blend great basslines with inspiring lyrics and a bit of soul into a #1 indie album of the year as far as i am concerned. And im sure others would agree. did you all check out www.ichatnaked.com yet! LATER.

I saw modest mouse in el paso, tx and in colorado springs, co. If you havent seen them live you are missing out man! They were a lot cooler in colorado, isaac talked for like 15 minutes before they started playing music, talking shit to the crowd you know typical brock compliments. So my advice for the day is... go see Modest Mouse in concert! the link to their webiste is on my page, you can find out where they are touring now. oh and don't forget to check out www.ichatnaked.com, it's a chat and dating site that is really cool, hurry and sign up while its free. ok, i changed my mind. along with links to interesting sites, this blog will be focused on my love for all things indie rock! i consider myself "well informed" as far as what's goin on in the indie rock world. so i will link to my favorite bands, and let you know via the INDIE BLOG what is fresh. not to mention what is happening at KMSA 91.3fm the college radio station where I DJ and am a music director.
