MUSIC
10.12.04 (11:53 am)   [edit]

I got an ipod. dont worry i didnt pay for it i won it in a raffle. they are the rendiest way to listen to music, the whole ad campaign has really paid off.  well anyway im gonna fill up my computer before i can even phase the pod, any help on that let me know.

As for new music Pinback has come out with a newbie called "summer in abaddon" .  not much digression from their old album, basically carries on right where the left off of their last ep and blue screen life.  good album nevertheless.  The Libertines recently released a new album and i would definetly recommend it to all the brit rock rockers, and everyone else alike. "cant stand me now" is the breakaway single if your into singles.

im off to Las Vegas, see youll later.

10.03.04 (4:58 pm)   [edit]
bloc party have been around for a little while but they are really making an impact on my life these days. All of a sudden the post punk dance scene is exploding and i am right there dancing along with it.  The song can be found on www.heavy.com along with other songs from Communique and m83.  just a small sample of good fucking music. go listen for free then email the band and tell them they rock.  INDIE ROCK ON !

THE FAINT AND ROCKING CHICKS!@!@#
09.08.04 (11:13 am)   [edit]

ok when was the last time you really rocked out to music sang by a girl? Joan Jett, maybe the distillers, and if you stretch it some early Pat Benetar, well you in for a treat.  Royal Trux is the band, it reminds me of the scorpions it rocks so hard, you gotta have that nasty image if you want to own the fans hearts, and jen the lead singer does just that, when your done listening to that go buy the new Faint, wet from birth!! i just heard it fro the first time today and i love it, they added some instuments to the sound like the violin.  Wet From BirthI cant wait to see them with Beep Beep, and tv on the radio, that will be an amazing show!

Note to JD you heard Rilo Kiley yet, i think you will like it, How's Ichat going, I cant believe one of the exposed chicks has std's.  thats nasty. keep it real.

cheese dick fucks!
08.10.04 (8:52 am)   [edit]

Has anyone noticed lately how all these bands that are on small labels magically seem to be popping up in mainstream media?  I mentioned earlier how natalie portman just blurted out her "favorite" band the Shins in her latest movie Garden State.  A great film but no need for that kind of name dropping.

And i was watching the 4400 the other day and a girl makes a mix cd for a friend and whats on it, oh, The Darkness, Handsome boy modeling school, and some other band.  For some reason this girl wrote those bands on the cd case cover, so all of america could see, then she said out loud the names.  Handsome boy modeling school, why the fuck would they be shamlessly plugged into a fucking tv show on cable?  I used to listen to prince paul and mc paul barman way back in the day.

I just dont understand if its the label promoters fault, the show, i dont know who to blame.  But sadly it all comes down to the band, they must take some credit for this stupid attempt at publicity.  I never watch the OC but i know about the shit they pull, basically a launching ground for new shitty music like Rooney, the market is allready tuned into that crap so they would most likely buy music that is just as shitty.  I am seeking a marketing position at a label and maybe one day i will be in charge of getting ben affleck to say "I like THE HUNS", but until then i fully deplore this shamless way to reach americas music listeners.  Keep it on the radio.  thank you for listening.-adam

How to faint
08.09.04 (10:56 am)   [edit]
Im talking about the Faint today ad i can't remember if i ever talked bout them before but they are releasing a new album pretty soon and going on tour as well. I dont know about you but im pretty excited about it! Im seeing them with tv on the radio in denver, co in november. im also moving to colorado in a week so i might not write in the blog for a little while or so. But if you allready love the Faint i hope you also have heard Broken Spindles, its joel from the faint's solo album, He pretty much made the music on his computer, then decided it sounded like a fucking computer so he redid the whole album with instruments, what dedication he has to his music. The Faint are on saddle creek records so go to the website and ch ch ch che chec check it out!

M. Night Shymalickmyballs
08.02.04 (2:11 pm)   [edit]
Did not like the village, although a the whole idea was interesting, the screenwriting left me yearning for an answer to many questions. Beautifully shot movie just not great writing. anyway as for indie music stuff, just wait till fall and i gaurantee you all the indie bands will be dropping their new shit. Nobody wants to release albums in the summer cause school is out and noone is listening to college radio (the #1 promo source for indie bands to get their music heard). I predict Death Cab will release an album maybe in the spring? i hope at least. Even better The postal service! Cat Power will drop something in early 2005, PLEASE! and with all the recent celeb shout outs the SHINS will follow up Chutes too Narrow also in early spring. Those are my prediction and to leave you with a FACT. the band KISSING TIGERS on Slowdance records are releasing a full lenght follow up to their trebuchet ep in August sometime. yeah! REALLY COOL BAND YOU WILL LIKE. find out more at slowdance.com LATER

GArdeN STaTE!
07.30.04 (8:25 am)   [edit]
WHAt a great film, is all i can say. Zach Braff put on an amazing performance, and i would say natalie portman, really stole the show. shes so cute and what a great actress. the score aint so bad either, although a tasteless name dropping of the Shins made me sick, there was a moving cover of Such Great Heights, from the Postal Service performed by Iron and Wine, all acoustic. i went straight home and learned it on guitar myself. The shins had like 2 or 3 songs in the movie, and that song that is on the trailer was in the movie, if anyone knows what it is let me know.

The movie is a dark comedy with love story undertones, but put together so beautifully i loved it. now you go see it, and leave your review in the comment section. later

MY TATTOO BLOG!!!
07.22.04 (10:02 am)   [edit]
Well i got my partial; sleeve tattoo, last night. its great, 300 bucks and its not even half way done, it will all be worth it when its over, it hurts like a biatch, you know. to sum it u i would say it is a phycadelic, thought provoking, nature friendly, with a waterfall and skullz. what else could you want? it really does hurt though. i heard san diego police officers are required to wear long sleeve shirts if they have tattoos on their arms. well i guess ill never be in that profession (wasnt planning on it anyway). i hope to work within the music industry or a print publications. im getting some good experience so i am on my way, optimistically. thanks for all the comments and support. ps. please leave a comment or support.-adam

MODEST MOUSE
07.21.04 (9:27 am)   [edit]
so i am reading the great article about modest in my diw magazine and i really am interested, but then this morning i pick up the newest rolling stone and read the same fucking article! not in the exact words but the premise is the same. I am starting the mini-mag in august and all i want to do is an interview with modest and ask them, "what is your favorite thing to do before a show?" or what is your drink of choice after a great show? you know questions that we actually can relate to. I did get to meet the band and do a station id for KMSA, isaac didnt even say our stations name, he just said some funy shit, but it was cool, he was drinking red bulls and sky vodka, throwing around knives trying to get them stuck in the wall. Dan galucci and eric judy were mellow just sitting around waiting for the show enjoying the drunken antics of Brock. what a great experience!

BACK TO THE INDIE ROOTS
07.20.04 (11:07 am)   [edit]
so i have been kinda depressed this summer, i have been away from the indie college music scene and i cant wait to get back and revolutionize KMSA (my college radio station). Its gonna be a great year for music in Grand Junction, CO. Well anyway i got some great info. for you MUSIC LOVERS! i found this magazine that gets put out quarterly, its called DIW independent thought on independent music. sounds great. go to http://diwmagazine.com and see how much you like it. OH and there was an article about gig poster and how they are the key between artistic creativity and indie music. in a time of burned cd's how the art is being lost in translation. oh yeah. http://gigposters.com

Im not political guy
07.15.04 (12:28 pm)   [edit]
im not into politics, but i do like knowing the truth, the truth behind what goes on within the high powers of my country. i am not patriot either. actually i am geting sick of talking about politics in my blog. one more thing. does anyone think that our country can be fixed, casue i really dont. please leave a commment , i reeally want to know what you all think. thanks.

P.S.
read the book br george orwell "1984"
it was written circa 1920's about what it will be like in 1984, and how government rules peoples mind's. and how war is the only way to maintain a certain level of existence for man. Great Book!

MIKE MOORE DEFENDS
07.14.04 (9:23 am)   [edit]
Michael moore has been accused of making false accusations in his new movie farenheit 9/11 so he responded by citing the sources of every single fact he used in the movie. a site called moorewatch dot com, came back saying they dont get paid enough or they would find holes in his story. BS.

DID anyone see Anchorman yet? Wow i had poor expectations going into that movie, you know the usual slapstick humor that goes along with a spoof movie. But this was actually a good movie! Camios by luke wilson and ben stiller, and tim robbins just were the icing on the cake. That fight scene will go down in history. the jazz flute playing was glorious and paul rudd suprised me with how funny he can be. Go see this film, especially if you like will farrel. Oh and if you havent allready seen Zoolander starring ben stiller and will Farrel, see that movie first. -BLOGOUT

TATTOO BLOG
07.13.04 (12:33 pm)   [edit]
i am getting a tattoo, it will include some physcadelic designs from 60's era music posters. If anyone knows where i can get pictures of some posters, or that kind of art, please leave a comment telling me how. Anyway. i have been shamelessly promoting http://ichatnaked.com hoping to get new people joined so there will be a bigger community to live with. But nobody seems to care  the site is going ok, it seems like there are more gay guys signing up than anyone, i really would like to see some normal people signing on, so i can have someone to relate to.

As for Rock, Check out "Elbow" the album is cast of thousands. This band kinda sounds like dave mathews, DONT BE SCARED, they are way more talented and advanced with their sound. Garunteed to be a cult classic. YOU WILL LIEK THIS BAND.

BACK TO ROCK!
07.12.04 (2:30 pm)   [edit]
ok so i hope you enjoyed farenheit 9/11, Im glad you figured out that you need a bittorrent module to dowload the file, google bittorret if you didnt figure that out. So for rock today i am recommending "The Talk" a great indie glam retro rock album, wow thats a mouthful. Comparable to the hives the stokes, franz ferdinand. but better in my opinion.

XXX INDIE ROCK
07.07.04 (9:19 am)   [edit]
Did you like Nashville Pussy? Well i did not, i hate that shitty excuse for music. But the bass player, ooooh she's a babe, Corey Parks, is now part of the band Die Huns, a nasty thrash punk band that along with her last band, sucks fucking balls. But what drew me to this album was her on the inside cover in all her punk biker glory standing there looking sexy as hell. she has a tattoo on her stomach that says "Eat me Princess" and various other ones all over her body, i would say she looks like a biker chick version of Karen O, from the Yeah's. Lets not even start talking about Karen O. ouch. so go check out the album in stores, and look at the picture, BUT DO NOT BUY IT. or find her on the internet. Corey Parks. Oh i have noticed you guys havent been going to my links, so come on check it out, you will be glad you did

SEX AND INDIE ROCK!
07.06.04 (9:16 am)   [edit]
SO sex is the topic today, i just got back from rosarito, mexico, nothing like spending our countrys independance day, in another country. YEA! the fieworks show was so much better than any american display by far. from about 7pm on the 4th till 3am on the 5th was a nonstop arsenal of artillery shells on the beach. i seriosuly felt like i was standing in the heart of Baghdad on a bad day. my girlfriend got hit with a firework, an m-80 exploded near her and gave her a nice little wound. I went to Senor Frogs and got wasted off of corona's and tequila, although the guys whos come up to you with the tequila and they whistle and they proceed to grab your head tilt it back and pour in the tequila in. I hate those guys. fuckers. overall i had fun in mexico and i got laid in the end, my girlfriend and i found a nice blonde girl who was down for anything, cant go wrong with a blondie. BLOG OUT!

INDIE BLOG ALERT
07.02.04 (9:36 am)   [edit]
i said i would talk about Grandaddy in this blog, so, have you heard the sophtmore slump album? best grandaddy album ever, but i am still checking out "sumday" to see if it can rival. IF you like film, i am sure you saw 28 days later from the diredtor of trainspotting, 28 is the best zombie movie ever! no doubt! grandaddy has a song in the soundtrack of it too, when the people find the grocery store and stock up on food. I heard they are coming out with a sequel, called 28 weeks later. I cant wait for this one. Anyway I wanted to Mention the band Built To Spill, one of my favorite bands of all time right up there with Modest Mouse. Doug Marsch is fucking rad, his vocals rock along with his amazing guitar playing skills, although they havent released an album in a long time, i am waiting anxiously for a new one. They were on tour for awhile so maybe that means a cd is coming. anyway, dowload the song "stab" or "big dipper" and youll seee what all the fuss is about. BLOG.

INDIE BLOG
07.01.04 (12:46 pm)   [edit]
Yesterday i talked about Amoeba music and that they have free shows, well just recently i saw The Eagles of Death Metal, it was rad. Jesse the lead singer is a funny guy he keeps telling all the ladies to come to the front and the guys just go on to the back. He stops between songs to comb his hair. great free show, then i went on the buy a couple cd's, Granddaddy, and The Halo Benders. The Halo Benders are fucking cool, Doug MArsch along with a guy who has a very deep voice comprise the Halo benders, if you like Built to Spill, you will like This band. tomoroow i will talk more about Grandaddy, and Built to spill. BLOG OUT. http://ichatnaked.com/gay, is great place to meet people just like yourself.

INDIE BLOG
06.30.04 (10:40 am)   [edit]
Her Space Holiday came out with an album about 6 months ago, that was brilliant! if you like the postal service, you might like them. the use lots of electronic sounds and they are really vocally driven, the lyrics tend to strike an emotional chord in some people i ahve talked to about it. so They are my recommendation for the day. Have any of you been to Amoeba Music? The largest music store i have ever seen, i went in there and all i could hear was the sounds of people shuffling through cd's. there is a long line to buy stuff. But every once in awhile there are free shows put on in the store, its crazy! Don't forget to check out my favorite chatting website http://ichatnaked.com.

P.S. please leave a comment, just so i know you care. thanks
